50 Best Neighborhoods is an independent editorial publication. We believe transparency about how we fund this site is essential to earning and maintaining your trust.
How we earn revenue
This site earns revenue through two channels:
Affiliate links. Some links on this site are affiliate links to tour operators and hotel booking platforms, including GetYourGuide and Viator. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These links are clearly marked with the standard rel="sponsored" attribute in the HTML.
Display advertising. We display contextual advertisements through Google AdSense. These ads are algorithmically placed and we do not control which specific ads appear. Ad placements are clearly distinguished from editorial content.
Book recommendations. We occasionally recommend books through Amazon affiliate links. If you purchase a book through these links, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
What we do not do
We do not accept payment for favorable rankings or reviews. No neighborhood, city, hotel, or tour operator can pay to appear on this site or to improve their position in our rankings. Our editorial content is written independently by our editorial team based on rigorous criteria described on our About page.
We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers. Our privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
Editorial independence
Our editorial team operates independently from our revenue operations. The editors who write and rank neighborhoods have no knowledge of which affiliate partnerships are active and no financial incentive to favor any particular destination, tour operator, or booking platform. When we link to a partner, it is because we genuinely believe the product or service is useful to our readers.
FTC compliance
This disclosure page is published in compliance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on affiliate marketing and endorsements. All affiliate links on this site are marked with rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow" attributes as required.
